Idee
In meiner Komposition ist die Energie und die Geschwindigkeit der Bahn von Wichtigkeit: Die Schnelligkeit, von einem Ort zum anderen zu gelangen; die Energie der Fortbewegung. Ebenso wird die Arbeit von Mensch und Maschine thematisiert.
Durch die installative Arbeit sollen die Passagiere und Reisenden für kurze Zeit in eine andere Art Welt entführt werden!
Ausgangsmaterial für meine musikalische Arbeit zu diesem Projekt sind Sirenen-, Tunnelbau-, Ladegrät-, Zementmaschine-, Eisenbahn-. Geräusche, etc.
Mit diesem Geräuschematerial habe ich vier kurze fragmentarische Kompositionen gemacht. Diese waren die Ausgangslage für die visuelle Umsetzung.
Musik/Video
Gezeigt werden ca. 30 Tunnelarbeiter nach getaner Arbeit (in schmutziger Arbeitskleidung stellen sie sich für eine kurze Zeit vor eine Kamera, mit Blick direkt in die Kamera).
Die „Portraits“ werden jeweils ca. je 20 sek. zu sehen sein, versehen mit persönlichen Daten; Name, seit welchem Jahr im Stollen, Herkunftsland, seit wie vielen Stunden im Stollen)
Die Musik mit einem Video mit den verschiedenen Aspekten dieses Grossunternehmen der Neat, die Geschwindigkeit, die Arbeit, die Unterwelt… kommt immer nach einer Sequenz von Arbeiterportraits. Sie ist kurz und prägnant und deutet mit ihren zum Teil plakativen Geräuschen einen Aspekt dieser komplexen Arbeit im Tunnel an.

Idea
In my composition, the energy and the acceleration of the train is important. The speed of arrival from one place to another. The energy of forward movements. Also man working with machine is a large theme.
The work, installed for a time at train platforms above the underground tunnel sites, was shown during the construction of the tunnel. The audience were the people living and traveling in the areas--whose lifestyle would soon be made obsolete by the new, faster transportation system. It gave them a unique look towards the people making the tunnel below and transported them for a brief time into this underworld.
Raw material for my musical work for this project are sirens, tunnel construction, stone moving equipment, cement machines, trains, noises...
From this noise/sound material i have made four short-fragmentary compositions. These were the raw material for the visual interpretations.
Musik/Video
Shown are 30 tunnel workers looking directly to the camera. They are shown before going to work, in their dirty work clothes, standing briefly in front of the camera.
The portraits are in the circa of 20 seconds and are shown together with the personal information of the worker; name, since when in Stollen, from where they come, for how many hours they are in the tunnel today.
The music with video includes many different aspects of the large-scale enterprise of the Neat ( HYPERLINK "http://www.alptransit.ch/de/" ); the speed, the work, the underworld, the portraits. It is short and concise, and suggests with its partially-evocative noises, an aspect of this complex work in the tunnel.
